The Game

I MUSTACHE U is a playful way to discover things you may not have known about your friends and, at the same time, share your experiences with them. Players make predictions about each other and score points for correct predictions, with each question providing an opportunity to share personal experiences and beliefs, sparking engaging conversations that make memorable moments and connect people through play.

I MUSTACHE U was created to entertain friends on their regular guys' night out. Founder Jason Duncan wanted the group to interact with each other instead of tapping on phones, watching TV, or talking about work.

The original idea derived from the awkwardness of a woman asking Jason how old he thought she was. Jason didn't want to offend her but was competitive and wanted to guess right. That inspired the first prediction card, "How old am I?" Every other question was crafted with that same playful awkwardness.

When strangers asked where they could find the game, Jason refined the gameplay, added new questions, and designed the artwork to make I MUSTACHE U playable for a wider audience.

The Rules

Are you ready for a fun social experience?

Begin by choosing an iconic 'stache style and taking both cards. These are the prediction cards, and we'll use them to make guesses about each other. There are “Yes/No” and “Over/Under” predictions.

The most adventurous of us start by drawing a question card from one of three categories:

I MUSTACHE U “To Be Friends” is socially appropriate

I MUSTACHE U “To Be Playful” gets much more personal

I MUSTACHE U “To Be Dirty” is completely inappropriate and should not be played.

The question on the card is read aloud, and based on the type of question, the other players must determine whether the answer is “Yes, " “No, " “Over,” or “Under.” For example:

“How many times have I been married?” (The player who drew the card would give a number, and the other players would have to guess “Over” or “Under.”)

“Am I currently in a committed relationship?” (A simple “Yes” or “No” answer.)

Players earn points based on correct answers, but we’re not done yet! Now, the player who drew the card answers the same question for each player at the table. Once the round is complete, the play moves to the next player.

2-12 Players (more with additional copies or expansions)

Ages 18+ (some content is inappropriate for all players)
